Description:
This SoftPaq contains a Microsoft XP fix for the listed desktop models and operating systems. This fix (from Microsoft QFE 835409) must be applied to any listed desktop running the Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Windows XP Service Pack 1a (SP1a) operating system BEFORE upgrading the desktop to Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) operating system.
This SoftPaq resolves an issue that occurs when a user upgrades to Windows XP SP2 and, thereafter, restores a Windows XP SP1 Restore Point. Previous to this fix, the user was restored to the Windows XP SP1 operating system, eliminating the possibility of returning to Windows XP SP2 by using any of the restore points under the Windows XP SP2 System Restore function.
